Getting to Disneyland® Paris in your car

What is the one attraction in France more people travel to with LeShuttle than any other?

Hi ho, hi ho, it’s off to Disneyland® Paris they go. Of course it is – it’s the most popular theme park in Europe!

It’s no surprise either that Disney® fans of all ages choose to use LeShuttle (formerly known as Eurotunnel) to whisk them on their way to see Mickey, Elsa, Buzz and all their favourite characters.

For a start, you can pack everything you need into your car and not have to worry about changing trains or baggage restrictions. This isn’t the case if you are travelling by train or flying. If you have pets you can also stay together for the whole duration of your Channel crossing – not possible on a ferry.

You will have the freedom of  travelling to Disneyland® Paris at your own pace, and being able to stop off wherever you like.

How long does travelling to Disneyland® Paris take by car?

It will depend on where you are travelling from in the UK to our terminal at Folkestone, but the crossing from Folkestone to Calais takes just 35 minutes. There are up to four shuttle services per hour.

From our terminal in Calais, the drive to Disneyland® Paris is around 3 hours and 15 minutes via the A26 and A1 (with tolls). From the A4 motorway you will see regular signs for Disneyland® Paris. Take junction 14 for Marne-la-Vallée, Bailly-Romainvilliers and Parcs Disney.

If you are driving from the centre of Paris, getting to  Disneyland® Paris takes about 40 minutes on the A4.

Other ways of getting to Disneyland® Paris

Eurostar to Disneyland® Paris

Eurostar had for many years operated a direct service from London St Pancras to Marne-la-Vallée, the closest station to the Disneyland® parks. However, the company ended its direct service to Disneyland® Paris in 2023.

It is still possible to travel to Disneyland® Paris by train, but it will take longer.

You can take the Eurostar to its Paris terminus at Gard du Nord, but then you will need to take an RER suburban train to Gare Du Lyon station. Passengers must change at Gare du Lyon, and then catch another RER service to Marne-la-Vallée. The train from Gare du Lyon to Marne-la-Vallée takes approximately 40 minutes.

Alternatively, you could change at Lille on the Eurostar. There is a service from Lille to Marne-la-Vallée which takes around 1 hour and 5 minutes.

Flying to Disneyland® Paris

Avengers campus Disneyland ParisYou could fly, but the Avengers don’t have to worry about check-in times

If you fancy taking a flight to see Mickey and co in Paris, there are direct services from London Gatwick, Luton and London City airports to Charles de Gaulle airport. The flight time is around 1 hour 20 minutes, but you will have to allow plenty of time for check-in, passport control and baggage reclaim. Disneyland® Paris operate a ‘Magical Shuttle’ bus service between the airport and the parks, which takes around 45 minutes and runs 7 days a week.

If you’re going for an extended break to Disneyland® Paris, flying will bring a baggage restriction – which of course you don’t have with LeShuttle.

The advantages of driving over flying to Disneyland® Paris (also known as Euro Disney)

Many people assume that to fly to Disneyland® Paris would be the obvious thing to do, but actually driving via LeShuttle has the following benefits:

  • No luggage restrictions
  • No delays for passport control & baggage reclaim
  • Take your pets with you
  • Ticket price per vehicle – the more people that travel, the cheaper it gets!

Ferries to Disneyland® Paris

DFDS and P&O Ferries run ferry services from Dover to Calais. Driving times from Calais to Disneyland® Paris are around the same (3 hours and 15 minutes), so how does going by ferry compare with LeShuttle?

There are fewer crossings with both companies across the Channel per day than LeShuttle provide, boarding times are longer, and crossing times are around 90-100 minutes (compared to 35 minutes with LeShuttle). If you are travelling with pets you will have to leave them in your vehicle during the crossing. With LeShuttle you can stay with them the entire time.

The advantages of driving over taking the ferry to Disneyland® Paris

As the driving time from Calais to Disneyland® Paris is similar from the ferry ports as our terminal, we can only compare the travel experience itself. Crossing the Channel via LeShuttle has the following benefits:

  • Shorter crossing time
  • More crossings per day
  • Quicker boarding times
  • Stay with your pets during the Channel crossing

Travelling to Disneyland® Paris with LeShuttle
