Your guide to Phantasialand in Germany

Unique rides, immersive attractions and family entertainment –  Phantasialand has it all.

This award-winning theme park near Cologne has everything a family needs for a fun day out.

What is Phantasialand?

Phantasialand is an immersive theme park in Germany where high octane rollercoasters combine with family fun. Fantasy, history and imagination inspire its seven themed worlds, and the emphasis is very much on attractions for the younger child. Three-quarters of the park’s rides can be experienced by children measuring 1 metre or more in height, so most 3 or 4 year olds will be able to enjoy all the fun of Phantasialand.

Where is Phantasialand?

Phantasialand is located in Brühl, a town in the North Rhine-Westphalia region of Germany, near to Cologne and Bonn.

Rides and attractions

For older children and adults

Rollercoaster fans are in for a treat at Phantasialand. One of the park’s flagship attractions is Taron, the longest multi-launch rollercoaster in the world, which twists and turns dramatically through the mystery world of Klugheim. Also in Klugheim you’ll get to ride Raik, the fastest family boomerang rollercoaster of its kind when it opened in 2016. Try not to scream as it swings, back and forth, at incredible speeds! In the Mexico themed world get an extreme adrenaline-fuelled soaking on Chiapas, the world’s steepest log flume drop.

For young children

Where do we start? Your little ones will love everything about Phantasialand! There are so many different gentle rides for them to try, including carousels, gondolas, teacups, ferris wheels and bumper cars. For most rides children must be accompanied by an adult, but some are suitable for toddlers to go it alone. Lots of the rides most suited for young children are in the World of the Wuze, a fantasy land of fairytale creatures, Hobbit-like houses and little people.

For the whole family

Enjoy family fun and action in Phantasialand’s worlds full of adventure! There’s trails through an African jungle, where explorers of all ages have to scale rocky cliffs and tiptoe over narrow bridges, while the Black Mamba rollercoaster whizzes past. Or you can make your way up the climbing nets and ladders to ascend the wings of the giant bird Avoras in the World of the Wuze. How about rushing high above the water and deep into the canyons on board family roller coaster Colorado Adventure?

Events and shows at Phantasialand

Take your seats for some fantastic entertainment for the whole family at Phantasialand. “Rock on Ice” is an award-winning show that is more akin to a rock concert on ice skates, featuring spectacular jumps and fast-paced pirouettes, all to an atmospheric rock soundtrack. “Nobis”, staged in the Wintergarten in the Berlin themed world, brings together world-class acrobats, dancers and singers for a spectacular show full of strength and elegance. The shows at Phantasialand run for 30-40 minutes and are usually suitable for all age groups.

‘Wintertraum’ is Phantasialand’s magical winter festival, when the park is illuminated with Christmas lights. Each day ends with the ‘Magic Symphony’, a firework, light and sound extravaganza.

Themed Worlds

Phantasialand is divided into seven immersive fantasy lands, including:

•    Goldenes Berlin – the golden age of Berlin in the 1920s, full of magnificent stucco and floral splendour

•    Rookburgh – a fantasy world of steampunk innovation

•    Klugheim – a village where mystery and powerful forces reign, not to mention the thunderous roller coasters Taron and Raik

•    The World of the Wuze – step into a fairytale land of tranquil nature

Other lands are inspired by the landscapes and culture of Africa, Mexico and China.
